Aliança is committed to protecting the Amazon. Any deforestation and damaging of the Amazon biome are unacceptable. As a signatory to the Soy Moratorium (“Lista da Moratória da Soja”), Aliança constantly develops and strengthens its controls and tracing procedures for the crop formation, as well as partners with environmental regulatory bodies and NGOs, local communities, farmers, governments and customers to increase the awareness and conduct proactive measures to preserve the important Amazon ecosystem.

Alianca strictly complies with the Brazilian Soy Moratorium in the Amazon and does not buy soya from rainforest cleared after July 2008.

As such, Aliança officially declares and informs that it has never been and is not involved nor have been accused in any illegal activities which violate environmental rules and regulations, both in Brazil and worldwide operations. All business activities of Aliança are conducted in strict compliance with applicable laws and environmental rules. Therefore, any information and allegations contained in any media vehicles claiming the contrary are unjustified and ungrounded.

Aliança purchases soy beans under strict internal compliance check prior to execution of the transactions, which are audited by independent environmental audit companies certified by ANEC (National Grain Exporters Association) and ABIOVE (Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries), for compliance with the Soy Moratorium: such audit reports certify that Aliança fully complies with all requirements of the Soy Moratorium and all soy beans purchases were conducted explicitly in relation to crop harvested on lands that were not included in the Moratorium list.

As a part of compliance process and conducting internal control procedures, Aliança has been developing and constantly increasing the level of control over transactions, and implements very strict procedures, as follows:

  1. in 2018 and up to May 2019, back-office verified each supplier’s land with ANEC list of embargoed lands before each purchase;
  2. since May 2019 Aliança has been using outsourced electronic services to constantly monitor crop formation lands that are embargoed by IBAMA (Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources). Accordingly, any supplier indicated in any of the aforementioned lists of violators is automatically blocked in the ERP system of Aliança and is banned for all transactions and payments;
  3. also, since April 2021 Aliança has been analyzing data from satellite maps and cross-checking gathered data with the crop origin;
  4. as a regular and general procedure before each deal - Aliança performs complex checks of all suppliers for tax irregularities, for their indication in the lists of violators for illegal deforestation, lists of Green Grains and Slavery-like Work List, and, most importantly – violators of the Soy Moratorium.

It should be noted that Aliança, as a participant of socio-environmental initiatives under the Soy Moratorium, is in constant collaboration with ABIOVE and ANEC on all topics of preservation of forests in the Amazon biome in Brazil. All internal compliance and control procedures, as developed and implemented in Aliança, are directed to preservation of the environment, and preventing trade of the soybeans as illegally originated on the embargoed lands.

Finally, Aliança is strict in following applicable rules, especially environmental, and is committed on every level of operation of its business in Brazil and worldwide.
